A few years ago I did this Drip Vase project for the toddler class at school and I thought they turned out so pretty! They were so simple but didn’t look it. H helped me recreate this project this year as gifts for my mom and my mother-in-law.
Materials:
- Any glass or ceramic container, I got these from Michaels, but normally I use the Starbucks Frappuccino jars 🙂
- Eye droppers/pipettes (you can find these at Michael’s or Hobby Lobby)
- Glass Paint ( I used DecoArt and Americana Crystal Gloss Enamels Transparent Glass Paint)
- Paper plate
The Process: Decide what direction you want your drips to fall ( I wanted the drips to look they were going up the glass so we placed the jar upside down on the plate so the plate would drip toward the top). Squeeze the pipette to suck paint up and gently squeeze onto jar and let run down. Keep going until you like the way it looks! It’s that easy! I had a different pipette for each color to keep the colors from mixing inside the pipette.
Isn’t it pretty!?!?!?
Once done follow the paint manufacturer’s directions on how to set the paint. This brand it needed to dry at room temperature for 4 days and then be baked in the oven a bit. It will vary by brand and type.
Add some flowers and enjoy!
- TIP: I bought the package of paint pictured thinking we didn’t need much, it was on clearance, and it had variety of colors. But once we got into the project I did notice that some of the containers had VERY little paint in them. So I did end up going back and getting some larger tubes of the same kind of paint in a few of the colors and they were on clearance too! Just know that the set pictured has LIMITED paint in it 🙂
