Teacher Appreciation week is next week! As a former teacher this is near and dear to my heart! Your kiddos’ teachers don’t need big, giant, extravagant presents but they do need thank yous! Their jobs are hard! They love your kids. Teachers go above and beyond for your sweet babes everyday, they work all day with your little loves and then go home thinking about them and what they can do help them learn better, and do even more work off the clock to make sure that your littles are getting the best education that they can offer. We know they don’t teach for the money 🙂 They do it because they care. Okay, Okay teacher shout out over! 🙂
But seriously, I love Hayes’ teachers and I am so grateful for how much work they do and how much they love H. I am also at the unique advantage of having been a coworker with all of these wonderful teachers for years and really knowing the way to their hearts. One guaranteed way to make them smile is food! We LOVE tacos here in Austin and Torchy’s Tacos is one of our favs so i thought I would make a fun printable to go with a Torchy’s gift card for H’s teacher. *If you don’t have a Torchy’s this printable could be used with any yummy taco joint gift card (Fuego, Taco Shack, Taco Bell, etc).
Mr printable would have been plenty cute just printed out and the gift card attached, but I just can’t leave well enough alone so I decided to dress him up a little bit 🙂
I just used some brown construction paper to cut out a taco shape big enough that the gift card could fit into. Use a glue dot, hot glue, glue stick, just something sticky to attache the back flap of your taco to the “TACO” printable. Using construction paper, I cut out some tomatoes, lettuce and cheese and glued that to the inside of the back flap of the taco. And then used a glue dot to temporarily attach the gift card on top of that. I also used a glue dot to hold the top flap of the taco closed but left it easy to open 🙂
